RiteFlo™ is a DED (Delivery Enhancement Device) that is different from any other spacer or holding chamber currently cleared by the FDA. It is designed to deliver no greater than a 30L/min inspiratory flow rate with every breath or inspiration. For over 20 years the NHLBI (National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute) has recommended a 30L/min slow laminar flow rate for all inspired medication. This low flow rate allows for greater deposition deeper into the lung.
The unique engineering of a patented fixed flow regulator baffle in this device allows every patient to benefit from this recommended flow rate. The FDA has cleared labeling that states RiteFlo™ “Assures the 30L/min flow rate Guidelines of the NHLBI/EPRIII”. This is the main difference between RiteFlo™ and any other spacer/holding chamber on the market. The use of an inhaler combined with the RiteFlo™ allows parents shorter treatment times compared to using nebulizers. RiteFlo™ like other DED’s, reduces the risk of oral side effects from inhaled steroid inhalers. Children can be easily taught how to use the RiteFlo™ device. There are many published peer reviewed studies showing the use of a DED is cost effective and improves asthma outcomes in ED (Emergency Departments) and hospitals. For More Detailed Information on RiteFlo™ please click on the links below.
